Falling down, down, down
Spinning 'round and 'round
All around, the ticking of clocks
Such a discordant sound

Right is left and left is right
Night is day and day is night
Up is down and down is up
Life is death and death is life

Voices whisper from every niche
Screams echo and cause a twitch
Claws and teeth threaten to kill
Eyes wild with bliss of such a thrill

Run, hide, fight, or plead
Nothing shall work, nothing you need
The sun and moon will laugh as you cry
As the Queen shrieks her commands to the sky

Blood forms penumbras as heads roll
A cry of defiance with each bell toll
The jury turns in accord, madness shining bright
Their question full of words to make your skin crawl with fright

"ArE yOu AlIcE?"

~Welcome to Wonderland, Alice~
I don't really know.

I like the idea of a twisted Wonderland, but I think a lot of people know that by now. Hell, I love anything to do with Wonderland, and if I ever have a kid and it's a girl, her name will be Alice whether she likes it or not. So...this was my attempt on a little macabre poetic-like piece about the Wonderland I'd like to write a story on someday. A Wonderland where everything you know is dead, and chaos runs rampant, and blood is everywhere you see.

So...yeah.

This was a fail. I don't care, I made it 98% rhyme, so I'm uploading it.

I don't know how this can be interpreted, really. I guess...the reader is lost in this bloody Wonderland, and everyone will call them Alice just because, and then the Queen of Hearts chops their head off.

Am I not a cheerful sort? :meow:

ALSO, CHEERS FOR MY 120TH DEVIATION.

Oh wow this was EXCELLENT. I loved it. When I was reading it in my head, it kinda came out sing-songy. I think this good poem would make a good song.

I see that. I agree with it, as well — the Life is Death and Death is Life. I find it odd that I do see this way, and I can't quite comprehend it. I just wonder if this makes me a bit mad, or if it makes more sense than I currently figure it does. I'm mainly curious.

If someone could help this curiosity, it'd be greatly appreciated, I think.

Yay for 120th deviation! :iconepicclapplz:
And as much as this sounds weird, I like anything remotely macabre-sounding/-looking. It gives a creepy feeling that sends excited shivers up my spine. Why, I dunno.
But I like this!

It's awesome! It doesn't have to rhyme. Have you ever heard of American McGee's Alice in Wonderland? My best friend loves it.

Thank you! And yes, I've heard of them, but I'll never get a chance to play the games.

All you need is a older comp and the game itself. I believe my best friend has the game.

It'd be very ominous though... Probably something the band Creature Feature would write.

I liked this. Though I'm always up for dark fantasy stuff XD Especially the 'falling down the rabbit hole' part seemed to capture the essence of the story.

Congrats on the 120th deviation! :D

And yea...no matter who Lewis Carrol wrote it for the actual book was definitely not for children. Though for me 'Through the Looking Glass' had a creepier vibe.

Thank you!

I know the book really is not for children, but as a kid...I was addicted to Alice in Wonderland no matter what. Proves that I'm screwed up.

I mean... if you read the book and look at the artwork and stuff... Alice in Wonderland really is some creepy shit. o.O

Are you familiar with American McGee's Alice? That's what this reminds of.

I know. I just like removing the childish innocence that Disney attempted to slap on and really make it fucked up. :D

I'll never get the chance to play the games, but I know what they're about. I'd like to play them, but the extent of my "twisted" Wonderland experience is the Heart no Kuni no Alice manga since, again, I have no way to play the games.

XD ruining childhoods ftw!

I'm not familiar with that manga. But then again, I'm kind of squeamish so that doesn't surprise me ^^;
