There are days where she
forgets how to fly;
wings all tangled up in
misguided heartstrings.

"There is nothing wrong with me,"
she insists,
"Nothing at all.
I just can't seem to
grow up."

The clock strikes
midnight -
she's nothing but
misled faith,
broken trust,
and withering pixie dust.
- and straight on 'til morning.

I don't want to grow up; I want to stay with Peter in Neverland forever.

I love how your poems twist fairytales into things that most children wouldn't understand. They're amazing.

This makes my heart hurt. Like, I love this and I don't really think I'll ever have the words to express how much, and the beauty and the flow of how this is put together makes me really happy. But the actuality of it makes me want to crawl into a corner, assume the fetal position, and weep bitterly. The last stanza fuck why would you do this to me This is really beautiful ^^

I can't seem to grow up either, but I sort of like that about myself :3 I don't just go with the flow and model myself into another copy of the "average adult." I want to be my own person and break out of the mold :P

I love the entire thing, but the last stanza really (and I wish there was a less cliché way to put this) spoke to me. I don't want to grow up either; my eighteenth birthday was the worst one I ever had.

The book gave me an impression that he was a bit of a lunatic. I freaked when I read tht he forgot about tinkerbell. That got me bad. A lot of things about the book made me sad, and kinda ruined my childhood image of him. I always loved Disney's Peter.

Peter was named after Walt's kid brother who died really young. He never never grew up so that's where that came from :iconmingplz:

No, it was J.M. Barrie who wrote it. Yes, he based Peter Pan on his deceased son (at least I think it was his son, like you said, it could have been the son of friend.) But I do believe the stories were written before Walt Disney was even born, or when he was still a child.
