Lovino adored humans.

They were simply marvelous creatures; naive, senseless and with an absolutely exquisite taste. He was a vampire, after all. Human blood was what he and all his brethren thrived on. And humans? They were numerous as the stars for a vampire like him, too many to count on his fingertips but so many different flavors waiting to be devoured.

There was, however, one human that intrigued the Italian more than he was willing to admit. Perhaps it was in the way she defied him, refusing to his advances whenever he passed her by. Or maybe it was simply the way her blood called to him like none other, singing a sweet and tempting lullaby that only awoken the Hunger that lay deep inside him and pushing away the solitude he so often felt. His senses would kick into overdrive whenever she was near and threaten to allow the beast within tear through his oh-so-carefully constructed cage and break free. She reminded him of himself when he, too, had been human, though he had given up all hope of returning to such a state a long time ago. She was a danger to him; a fatal catalyst that could destroy the masquerade that Lovino had designed for himself after four centuries.

And that made him want her even more.

Lovino had at last taken it upon himself to get what he wanted. It hadn't taken long to track the girl down - he had eyes and ears everywhere. It was Halloween night when he finally found himself alone with her, standing on a bridge in the middle of a secluded and empty park, gazing up at the luminous full moon.

The Italian stayed silent as he approached the girl. She had (h/c) hair, stray strands being picked up by the gentle and cool breeze that wafted through the autumn air. Her eyes - (e/c) - never left the visage of the moon's pale light, not even as he sauntered up to her. It wasn't until he stopped almost two inches away from her and merely stared that she finally turned around, staring right back at him.

The silence was almost palpable save for the way her heartbeat whispered to him coyly, the blood flowing through her veins mocking him with each passing second as her scent penetrated his senses, nearly making his mouth water.

"You again." It was the girl who broke the lull, her voice somewhat flat as if she wasn't surprised. "You must be stalking me. This is the, what, fifth or sixth time?"

Lovino's lips spread into a smile. "I'm pleased you remember me, bella. I was just taking a walk on this lonely night and happened to...notice you. What are you doing out here all by yourself, if I may ask? It is Halloween night. You must know of the horrors that can befall beautiful young women during nights of this nature."

She shrugged. "I was bored and needed some fresh air. Besides, I figured all the crazies were monitoring how the trick-or-treating is going. No one's going to care about me."

Lovino's amber eyes almost glowed with amusement at that. ", you think so? Hm..." He trailed off as he scrutinized her hungrily, fangs throbbing with the promise of fresh blood flowing through a pretty neck. He cleared his throat as the Hunger shrieked at him in fury, telling him to take what was rightfully his. The familiar burning that accompanied the promise of a meal swept through his entire being, setting his empty veins on fire and senses into overdrive. Everything became ten times clearer; the scent of her sweet, sweet blood and the chilly fall air, the music of her breathing in and our, the sight of her standing in the moon's radiance...and, if he parted his lips slightly, he could almost taste the saccharine treasure that was about to touch his tongue.

"Io sono Lovino Vargas," he bowed, translating immediately afterwards, "I am Lovino Vargas. May I know your name, being that we seem to have the bad habit of running into one another?"

The human girl almost smiled at that. "...it's (name). Just call me (name)."

"(Name)..." The syllables rolled off his tongue perfectly.

Lovino grinned widely and held out his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, signora (name). May I walk you back home? I feel it's only right; you never know what monsters you can find lurking in the darkness."

It was almost too ironic.

(Name) glanced down at his extended hand suspiciously. "And how do I know you're not one of them? We've only met and the other times were just you bumping into me and calling me 'pretty' or me bumping into you and calling you an idiot."

The Italian vampire reared his head back and let out a rich peal of laughter that echoed throughout the empty night. He grinned once more and this time he allowed the tip of a fang to show, amusement pushing back the Hunger for a brief moment. "You don't. That's the fun of it."

It delighted him to no end when (name)'s eyes widened in recognition, though she did not pale nor step away from him. She merely peered at his mouth in bewilderment. "...you're one of them, aren't you?"

Vampires were wildly known throughout almost all human cultures. What wasn't know was that they were real - that they were just like humans, save for the appetite based solely on blood and the fact that the sun gave them a nasty sunburn.

Lovino chuckled again and nodded, taking the chance to grasp her hand gently in his. She stiffened somewhat, but not as much as he expected. "Are you frightened, bella ragazza?" he murmured, locking eyes with her and shuffling closer to her.

"A little," (name) admitted immediately and she swallowed as her heartbeat sped up, singing to Lovino more urgently. "I had an idea that you guys were real. I've never really been scared of monsters...it's more of a fascination. I guess that's why I like to be alone on Halloween."

"Then you know what I would like from you, ?" He was not even going to waste his compulsion on her; it would be an insult, considering how she was much more intuitive than any other human he'd preyed on in the past. Part of him was still appalled, however, at the thought of a human girl finding him fascinating and not...terrifying.

It was...a pleasant change.

One that Lovino liked very, very much.

"Yes," she whispered as she trembled ever so slightly. Her blood was nearly wailing at him now, crooning "Take me, take me now!"

Lovino wasted no time in heeding the call.

His hands grasped her shoulders - not too harshly, but not entirely gentle - and he lowered his mouth to her neck, the vein pulsing and throbbing as his tongue hovered just above it. The girl shivered but stayed silent and perfectly still, as if awaiting his next move.

What happened next surprised the vampire a great deal.

Out of nowhere he whispered, "May I?" so softly he could barely hear himself and (name), without missing a beat, replied just as quietly.

"Yes."

Lovino's tongue delicately swept across the soft skin, twirling and twisting against the vein as his saliva coated the area. The vampiric endorphins that lay within his saliva would take away whatever pain the girl would feel, transforming it to pleasure; it was vampire kind's way of thanking their prey for their blood, though not all were kind enough to allow them to take affect.  When (name)'s voice left her lips as a soft whimper the Hunger within Lovino surged to the point where he nearly lost control, groaning himself as her blood begged for release.

It was almost hell letting the endorphins sink into her skin even though it only took half a minute.

And, when they finally did, the Italian vampire did what he had been doing for the past four centuries.

His fangs elongated from his gums completely and an almost feral hiss escaped his mouth as he bit down hard, piercing the tender flesh. (Name) cried out and he felt her hands clutch against his shirt, fingers curling into the material tightly as he loosened the pressure of his jaws once the blood began to flow. A flavor like no other exploded into Lovino's mouth, making his eyes widen and nearly causing him to stop drinking.

She tasted like heaven. Like all the things he (deep down) missed as being a human - the morning sunshine hitting your face, the way rain rolled down your cheeks like sky tears, how it felt like to laugh with those closest to you and the sensations of a fantastic dream where you meet the one is your lover.

He nearly died again then and there, licking and sucking and nibbling and swallowing.

"Mine," he growled against her throat as she gasped faintly, now leaning against him for support. "Mine...mio dolce, my sweet...all mine..."

It was then that Lovino realized why this human girl's blood had sang to him so lovingly.

She was his. She was the one thing all vampires sought for in the desolate state they called living; his Blood Tie. A myth to most of his kind that whispered of a human whose blood was meant for solely for one, Blood Ties were the vampiric equivalent of a soulmate.

And to think, after all these years - of forgetting who he'd been four hundred years ago, of losing hope of ever feeling human again, of being unable to remember how he'd even been turned to this life - he had found her. At last, Lovino had found his Blood Tie.

"Amore," Lovino whispered reverently as he pulled away, giving the two puncture wounds on her neck one last lick to clean the skin. "My love...my Blood Tie...I've found you..."

(Name) gazed at him with vertigo in her eyes before she promptly slumped against him, unconscious from the blood loss though he had been careful. He caught her instantly, holding her precious body against his as he nearly sobbed with joy. He looked up at the moon, shaking and shivering with emotions that had long since buried themselves deep within his still heart, unable to find the proper words.

Eventually he just gave up and clutched the girl close, vigilant and possessive as he began to walk in the direction where he knew her home was.

He would never have to be alone now, and neither would she.

Their blood would be entwined with one another's for all eternity.
My contribution to Halloween this year.

I realize that this is total crap because it's basically stupid fanservice but hey...I was bored. I kind of miss writing for Hetalia. So I wanted to try this out. Romano's a tad OOC because vampireness does that to you.

Blood Ties is just a dumb sentimental piece of shit I made up on the spot. Wootwoot.

Hot dayum though, Romano as a vampire makes me shiver. I've seen too many renditions of him like that. And werewolves. I like both equally but depending on my mood, my attraction goes either way.

I just really like a good almost-smut fic with my favorite characters okay don't judge me.

also this doesn't mean I'm returning to the Hetalia fandom, this was kind of a spur of the moment thing that I figured people would be pleased to see...sorry if I got your hopes up
